PROCESS ORIENTED VERBAL SKILLS
* DECEMBER 6TH - 9TH 2018 *
WITH DR. JIM FEIL D.C., R.P.T., B.C.S.T.

This advanced workshop will enable Craniosacral practitioners to deepen and develop their verbal skills to support clients through difficult or traumatic experiences. The workshop offers a vision of human functioning built around the formative process. Each situation in life requires that we organize a form and a behaviour to meet it and function effectively. This repertoire of forms and behaviours is mostly developed unconsciously, although some of this learning is participatory. When we encounter difficult, challenging or traumatizing situations, we organize ourselves the best way we can, yet we are often ineffective and struggle to attain our goals and needs, instead finding ourselves immersed in conflict and struggle. The verbal and interactive skills that we will practice in this workshop will penetrate deeply into how we and our clients organize ourselves in challenging moments and experiences, and how we can access the implicit or unconscious memories at the heart of most of our reflex and voluntary responses to life situations. Transitions, important decision points, crises, losses and disappointments represent some of the moments during which we need to find new resources and reflection skills to move ahead. In this seminar we will draw on the ‘Formative Psychology’ work of Stanley Keleman, the work of Dr. Randolph Stone in Polarity Therapy, and the principles of Craniosacral Therapy to build a simple procedure to clarify, define and help resolve some of life’s more complex issues.

Topics will include:

  • The importance of understanding constitutional types: endomorph, ectomorph and mesomorph.
  • Accurate empathy and client rhythm-matching for working with stress responses.
  • Working with emotion and deep feeling within a hands-on Craniosacral practice.
  • Keleman’s 5-Step Procedure for working with somatic process.
