THE SPIRAL OF LIFE

- THE HEART-BRAIN CONNECTION BEFORE AND AFTER BIRTH

* OCTOBER 15TH - 18TH 2009 *

WITH DR MICHAEL SHEA B.A., M.A., Ph.D, B.C.S.T.

Advanced craniosacral workshop with leading teacher and author of 'Somatic Psychology' and 'Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Vols. 1 & 2'Dr. Michael Shea B.A., M.A., Ph.D, B.C.S.T.

This seminar will detail the basic shape of Primary Respiration in the fluid body as a spiral, and an introduction to the development of the embryo as a spiral structure will be presented. This includes palpation skills to contact the spiral current in the fluid body, which forms the heart.

This advanced training will focus on new research in the embryonic development of the heart and its implications for biodynamic practice. The relationship of the developing heart to the developing brain and notocord in relation to the face and the neck will be a specific focus.

The heart arises by the top portion of the gut tube between the face and brain. Through the development of the face the heart grows within the embryo. This links the heart, notochord, brain and face together as one unit of function. Specific skills for decompressing the fluid body will be taught in order to balance the fluid fields of the face, notochord, brain and neck. Practitioners will be offered an advanced understanding the effects of prenatal stress on the developing fetus and how to work with infants, children and adults from a biodynamic perspective.
